One of Tri-State's main missions is the education of the public about railroad history. To that end, Tri-State has worked with several local authors over the past half-century to publish meaningful research on railroad topics in New Jersey. Several full-length books have been produced, and purchase information for those that are still available may be found on our railroad books page.

Tri-State also regularly published The Block Line, a monthly membership-only newsmagazine, from 1974 through 2004. This magazine now stands as a historical record of railroading developments and news from that time period, and all back issues are available for download in their entirety on our Block Line page.

The Block Line made a triumphant return in the winter of 2016! The magazine will be distributed to Tri-State members only in either digital or print format, depending on membership level. If you want to contribute to our new magazine, please email our Publications Committee.
