Monthly Meeting - Tri-State Presents: Railroads of Lake Hopatcong

  • Morris Museum (Bickford Theater) 6 Normandy Heights Road Morristown, NJ, 07960 United States (map)

May 10th is traditionally National Train Day, an this year on Thursday, May 10th, celebrate with Marty Kane of the Lake Hopatcong Historical Museum with a look into the fascination collection of images of the two major railroads that served Lake Hopatcong. A major Northeast resort from the 1880s and into the 1930s, Lake Hopatcong owed its rise to popularity to the railroads that promoted travel and moved the freight to the Lake. Marty will take us back to the days when the Central Railroad of New Jersey trains called on Nolan's Point and the Lackawanna trains stopped many times daily at Landing, which is still served by NJ Transit today.

Admission is free and all are welcome.
