The April 11th meeting will feature a tribute to long-time Tri-State member and past-Director Jim Boyd. As the founding editor of Railfan & Railroad, having left short careers as a brakeman for Illinois Central and a diesel locomotive technician for EMD, Jim Boyd moved to New Jersey in 1972 bringing with him a large collection of slides documenting the 1950s and '60s from around the United States. This show presents a selection of slides. Jim's boyhood friends Mike Schafer, currently an editor and author at White River Productions, and Craig Willet, retired Milwaukee / Soo / Amtrak engineer, assembled a selection of their favorites in a show that was presented at the 2019 Winterail in Oregon, one of Jim Boyd's favorite events. Jim had a big impact on Tri-State in the 1970s and 1980s. He passed away in 2010.
As always, admission is free and all are welcome to attend.
