"The Road and the Radio" and
"Eastern Europe by Rail"
Multi-media presentations by Steve Barry
Tri-State continues 2017 with a slideshow by Steve Barry, better known as the longtime editor of Railfan & Railroad magazine. Steve's photographic handiwork has been featured in railroading magazines and publications around the world.
Steve's travels have led him to develop two multi-media presentations, which will both be delivered at this Tri-State monthly meeting:
- THE ROAD AND THE RADIO — Why do we go railfanning? This program looks at four good reasons why our hobby is so appealing. Photos include some of Steve's favorite photos from the past 35 years.
- EASTERN EUROPE BY RAIL — This program starts in Berlin and heads east, looking at the sights (rail and non-rail) in Germany, Poland, and Ukraine. Along the way, Steve visits the Harz Mountain steam railroad, the trams of Warsaw, and the area around the Chernobyl power plant.
Join Steve Barry and Tri-State in exploring the psychology of the railroad hobby and traveling through eastern Europe. As always, attendance is free, and all are welcome!
